VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Water Committee Chair

MISSION: Preservation and enhancement of water supply and water quality in the south metro area with the ultimate goal of a sustainable water system for residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and ecosystem uses.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Recruit, organize and lead the water committee. Guide the committee in developing a water sustainability campaign by using the Sierra Club planning matrix. See that the campaign is carried out. Develop leaders from your committee memebers. Revisit and revise the campaign plan as needed.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Hold regular meetings of the water committee. Conduct research to learn about water problems. Setting a campaign theme and goal and advocating it to the Club. Help design the campaign and raise funds to carry it out.

QUALIFICATIONS: Interest and concern about the mission and willingness to give a little or a lot of time and energy.
