LEGISLATIVE ENDORSEMENT PROCESS Each member of the Political Committee will serve as a liaison to at least two groups. Group delegates or Group Chairs will be informed of the state legislative endorsements made that affect their region by their Political Committee liaison. The Group delegate to the Chapter Executive Committee or the Group Chair will be the contact person for the Political Committee liaison. The liaison also will inform the contact person of when and where the Chapter Political Committee and the Chapter Executive Committee will consider the endorsement. Once a Group delegate or Group Chair has been contacted, a Group has five days to contact the Political Committee Chair with opinions regarding a proposed endorsement. If the Political Committee Chair does not hear from a Group concerning a proposed endorsement, the endorsement will be considered passed by the Political Committee. Any recommendations made by a Group Executive Committee with regard to an endorsement decision shall be announced at the Chapter Political Committee and Chapter Executive Committee meetings where the endorsement is to be considered. Sections may not make endorsements of candidates. If a Section has an interest in a particular candidate, it should contact the appropriate Chapter entity (Group, Chapter Political Committee, or Chapter Executive Committee) to request consideration by that entity of endorsement of the candidate.
