PIKES PEAK SUIT: IT AIN’T OVER TILL IT’S OVER
The Pikes Peak lawsuit is not yet over. Although we have reached what we consider a fair settlement with the City of Colorado Springs, our Clean Water Act suit against the United States Forest Service is still ongoing. In addition, the City of Colorado Springs is continuing to press its own claim against the Forest Service, arguing that the Forest Service should pay the entire cost of implementing measures to end the erosion and sedimentation problems caused by the Pikes Peak Highway. Until these matters are resolved, we will continue to incur substantial legal costs. We hope that our members will continue the generous contributions that allow us to continue the fight to protect Pikes Peak.
