Enos Mills Group
Serving the Cities of Denver and Glendale, Colorado

The Enos Mills Group (EMG) includes Sierra Club members in the cities of Denver and Glendale, and any other Sierra Club members who would like to join. EMG is named after Enos Mills, often called the "Father of Rocky Mountain National Park."

Visit Elizabeth Mills Kiley's homepage for personal reflections on her
famous grandfather. For more information on Enos Mills and his relationship with Rocky Mountain National Park, be sure to stop by Estes Park Online.

EMG Events, Activities and Alerts
July 17th 7:00pm Summer Block Party
We're hosting a summer block party on the evening of July 17 as part of the Sierra Club's nationwide Lightbulbs to Leadership campaign. The campaign is sending the message that to really solve global warming, we need to change more than lightbulbs -- we need to change direction. We need action that is strong, urgent, and bold enough to get the job done.

As part of this event there will be live music (Rob Drabkin), special local guest speakers and we (along with others in hundreds of house parties across the country) will participate in a teleconference call with Sierra Club Executive Director Carl Pope, green jobs leader Van Jones, and another special guest. They'll talk about how we can achieve a clean energy future that creates green jobs and a healthy economy.

Please RSVP.

Want to Volunteer? Get Involved? Make a Difference?

  • Our Outings Committee is looking for help in the following areas:
    • Volunteers who would like to become Outings Leaders and share their love of Colorado with other members and potential members of the Club.
    • Suggestions for Outings/Hikes
Email Wende Reoch to volunteer or offer your suggestions

Members Make Difference!

Thank you! Thanks to all of our members and friends who have volunteered at events and who have taken some action on behalf of the environment and the Sierra Club in the past year. It is our members who make the difference!

Volunteer Opportunities

We are currently recruiting volunteers for the following Committees:
  • Membership – Making our Members feel welcome and involved
  • Program – Organizing topics and speakers for our monthly membership meetings
  • Outings – Do you like to hike or explore Colorado with others who also appreciate the wilderness and the beauty of our state?

Wish List

We get by with a little help from our friends! If you would like to donate an item, please contact Wende .
Office Supplies: Paper (preference is recycled content!); postage stamps, pens & pencils
Special events: Items for raffles, travel packages for auctions
Camping / Hiking / Outdoor equipment: Ski and snowshoe gear. Camp stoves, tents, and sleeping bags. Please only donate functioning, quality items. We plan to give the gear to the Chapter Inner City Outings program for use by their participants.

Reduce-Reuse-Recycle!

Each year, our group practices the three Rs by holding a Garage Sale Fundraiser (Date for 2007 is TBA - most likely in May). It is a great way for you to clean out any unwanted items (REDUCE) and put them to good use (REUSE & RECYCLE) instead of having them head to the landfill. If you would like to donate an item, please contact Wende.
